Diffusion magnetic resonance imaging data: development of methods and tools for diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases

چکیده

The use of quantitative mapping diffusion characteristics carries great potential for diagnosis and therapy brain diseases, since it potentially allows to classify tumors, determine the degree their malignancy, differentiate various morphological structures tumor non-tumor pathologies (such as stroma, necrotic zones, cysts, types edema, etc.), predict course outcome in particular, a clinical response treatment. Based on weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), is possible perform 3D modeling white matter pathways brain, which called tractography. In addition unique ability visualize location tracts relation intracranial pathologies, this technology build analyze complex maps communication networks (connectomics). review devoted discussion physical technical concept MRI, key ways its application processes, problems that complicate correct interpretation results. Since problem developing software MRI data remains relevant, presents our own experience an part project creating effective methods processing tracts.
